FEMI FALANA CALLS FOR PROBING OF PAST CBN GOVERNORS
Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana has implore the Federal Government to investigate loans allegedly given to commercial banks by former governors of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
he spoke in a dinner organised by the executives of the Senior Staff Club of the University of Ibadan in honour of members recently appointed by the Federal Government saying “We cannot be claiming to be broke when money given out as loans or deposits are not accounted for. The EFCC must probe, recover the funds and prosecute anybody found culpable,”
Falana said the loans were given between 2006 and 2011 and were not recovered stating that he will apply for an order of Mandamus to compel the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to investigate and prosecute those involved.
